Interested in being a provider?

The clinicians listed below have all volunteered to give one free visit to a woman with few resources experiencing emotional distress in the context of pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or the first year postpartum. This page will be updated regularly as we add generous providers across the country.


As you look through the names, here are definitions of the professions to keep in mind:


ARNP, APRN, NPP (Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry): An advanced practice nurse who can prescribe medications--have completed college, nursing school, and advanced training in psychiatric medicationsCNM (Certified Nurse Midwife): An advanced practice nurse who can prescribe medications--have completed college, nursing school, and advanced training in childbirth and childbirth related illnesses.


CPLC (Certified Perinatal Loss Caregiver): Cannot prescribe medications without additional credentialing--have completed advanced training in support for women who have suffered from loss of an embryo, fetus or baby


LGSW (Licensed Graduate Social Worker): Cannot prescribe medications--have completed college and state-mandated work experience (differs state to state)


LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor): Cannot prescribe medications--have completed college, graduate school (masters degree), and internship

LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist): Cannot prescribe medications--have completed college, graduate school (masters degree), and internship with a speciality in family and marital therapy


LSW (Licensed Social Worker): Cannot prescribe medications--have completed college and advanced training in social work and/or psychotherapy (education and experience level differ state by state)


MD and DO (Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine): Can prescribe medications--have completed college, medical school, residency, and fellowship


MSW (Master in Social Work): Cannot prescribe medications--have completed college, graduate school (masters degree), and internship


PhD and PsyD (Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, etc. and Doctor of Psychology): Cannot prescribe medications except in Guam, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Louisiana--have completed college, graduate school (doctoral degree), internship, and postdoctoral fellowship
